Social identity, intellectual identity, emotional identity, physical identity, spiritual identity and identity based on the character traits/qualities one possesses are all a part of the individual.

Allow me to briefly highlight how the terms listed above are intertwined within the concept of a social setting;

Social Identity:

Who you are proud to associate with in a social setting

Intellectual Identity:

How smart you are and how well you articulate advanced concepts in a social setting

Emotional Identity:

How you act or feel and convey your thoughts in a social setting

Physical Identity:

How you look in appearance and at first glance in a social setting

Spiritual Identity:

Where your beliefs and standards are built in a social setting

“What about the skills we have forged throughout our journey into becoming adults?”

This was the question that intrigued me in the last few days. Like everyone else I have developed and curated skills and abilities in order for me to survive and adapt to the constant changes in the realm of life. In other words, I change my skill set as my roles develop.

You, as the reader have skills and should always remember that you got to where you are by constantly adapting and learning.

re-learning ‘me’

Recently, I had a discussion with a friend regarding re-learning about oneself and understanding why someone should take the time to really research who, why and what they were like as a child.  He asked me about where I started my journey– I explained that it simply started with asking my mother a few questions like “what was I good at and when did you notice I had an interest in doing something”.

My mother replied that I was always funny and would try to impersonate television actors and that I loved to draw and build things. She said I really liked to create and was very artistic.

It was heart-warming to get her feedback especially when I think about what I have been doing as a career and how it has nothing to do with what I was passionate about as a child.

Here I am now, finally creating and living passionately.

The goal of this whole four pillars thing.

A home is held up by four walls and is built upon a foundation.

I imagine that passion, identity, self-esteem and success are pillars that some may utilize in different forms; success may be a bi-product of more than just the terms listed as pillars here. However and simply put, we all have a metric to measure our personal success therefore it seems fair to me to place success as a pillar in my personal foundation.

The goal of this whole ‘thing’ is:

–>To present people that have validated there passion at a certain stage in there lives.

–>To validate that a passion for something carves out an identity

–>To show you that being yourself and taking pride in your passion and reflecting your  identity in everything you do is the ultimate creator of confidence and self esteem

–>To demonstrate that success is the result of many behaviors but it’s forged from having absolute clarity in who you are and want to be.
